Fashion at the Emmys: Who Slayed the Red Carpet?

September 18, 2017 3 min read

Emmy Fashion
Do you know what’s better than binge-watching your favorite TV shows like This Is Us or Stranger Things? Drooling over the parade of stunning fashion at the Emmys, of course! At the recent 69th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, Hollywood A-listers and newcomers alike came out in full fashion force, which left us style-obsessed anything but disappointed!   So who slayed the red carpet at the Emmys this year? We’re pulling a few of our favorite fashion at the Emmys.

Nicole Kidman: Calvin Klein by Appointment

No Big Little Lie here---Nicole Kidman just schooled us on how to be daring and feminine at the same time in her Calvin Klein by Appointment dress. While its tea-length silhouette is refreshing, giving an ultra-girly vibe, the bold red color, however, says “I am woman, and I mean business.” Never to go unnoticed, the deep V-neck cut adorned with a sparkling bling offers just the right amount of tease to make us think “sultry sophistication.”

Zoe Kravitz: Dior Haute Couture and Tiffany & Co.

Talk about adding a pop color to an otherwise boring sea of black red carpet dresses! The only way to give justice to Zoe Kravitz’s Dior Haute Couture dress is to give it a 360-look. From the front, the feathery bottom is a blend of orange, yellow and red shades. However, the view from the back is completely different, flaunting a blend of blue, black, gray and green colors! The final touch? A dazzling Tiffany & Co. necklace.

Tracee Ellis Ross: Chanel Haute Couture

Here’s one way to steal the show: wear feathers and a Chanel haute couture, of course! Black-ish star Tracee Ellis Ross pulled out all the stops in this metallic and belted Chanel dress, which playfully features bell sleeves and a feather-embellished hemline.

Reese Witherspoon: Stella McCartney

Although this Stella McCartney suit landed Reese Witherspoon in the “Worst Dressed” list according to some style critics for looking like she forgot to wear her bottoms, the Hollywood darling deserves style points for daring to be different and feeling confident in it.

Tessa Thompson: Rossie Assoulin

There was no missing it, Tessa Thompson left a trail of rainbow and sparkles on the red carpet. The Westward star, no doubt, had her fashion moment at the Emmys when she stepped out wearing this Rossie Assoulin rainbow-colored dress. With alluring cutouts at the waist, this headturner is part of the rising American fashion designer’s Resort 2018 collection.

Evan Rachel Wood: Custom Jeremy Scott for Moschino

To infuse a cool vibe on the red carpet, Evan Rachel Wood ditched the all-too-expected flowing evening gown for a cream-colored tailored pantsuit, custom-made by Jeremy Scott for Moschino. To add shape against the wide-legged trousers, the actress wore a button-adorned waistcoat topped with a matching blazer.

Millie Bobby Brown: Calvin Klein by Appointment

Can we just pause for a moment and talk about how adorable Stranger Things' actress Millie Bobby Brown looked on the red carpet in her white Calvin Klein by Appointment dress. This tea-length dress is age-appropriate yet looks fashionably polished for TV’s big night, and this certainly was evident as the princess-like dress brought out the playfulness of the young star.

Lena Waithe: Alba Legacy

When it comes to androgynous fashion at the Emmys, Lena Waithe won it big. The talented co-creator of the hit TV series Master of None rocked a gold-colored Alba Legacy suit with matching bowtie.   There were undoubtedly many more fashion moments and celebrities who slayed the red carpet at the Emmys, including Priyanka Chopra in Balmain and Jessica Biel in Ralph & Russo couture gown. Now, your turn. As far as fashion at the Emmys goes, which looks were your favorite?
